Coffee Packaging

Coffee packaging is what AetherBag manufactures: printed and plain flexible bags for roasted coffee, in every format a roastery needs from a 125g sample up to a 1kg wholesale pack. We supply stand-up pouches, box bottom bags, side gusset bags and flat pouches, all of which can be fitted with a one-way degassing valve and a resealable zipper.

Everything on this page is available plain from stock or printed to your artwork.

125g 120-135 x 200 x 40-80 Sample packs, tasting flights, subscription extras
250g 130-155 x 200-270 x 50-80 The core UK retail size

Exact dimensions differ slightly by format - a 250g side gusset bag is taller and narrower than a 250g stand-up pouch - so check the individual collection page for the specification before you order. Our coffee bag sizes guide explains how fill weight, bag volume and coffee density interact.

Materials, barrier and finish

Our stock range covers matt and gloss laminate, unbleached kraft paper, and aluminium foil. Matt finishes resist fingerprints and photograph with minimal glare, which is why they dominate speciality coffee shelves. Kraft paper gives an uncoated, natural look. Aluminium foil is the highest barrier available and is the right choice where the pack has to survive long transit or a long shelf life.

Barrier choice is the single biggest driver of how long roasted coffee stays fresh, because oxygen is what stales coffee fastest. If your range is filled within a few days of roasting, you also need to plan for carbon dioxide: fresh roast releases CO2 for several days and will pressurise a sealed bag. Our guide to film structures and barrier and our article on how long roasted coffee stays fresh cover both in detail.

Valves and closures

A one-way degassing valve lets carbon dioxide escape without letting oxygen in. It matters for any bag filled within about five days of roast. Valves can be fitted to stand-up pouches, box bottom bags and side gusset bags, and zippers or tin ties can be added for resealability. Read how one-way degassing valves work.

Plain stock or custom printed

Plain bags ship from stock. Printed bags are produced to your artwork, and the minimum order quantity, artwork specification and lead time depend on the printing method - digital versus flexo or rotogravure. Our guide to custom printed coffee bags sets out MOQs, dieline requirements and typical lead times, and custom coffee packaging covers how to differentiate on shelf.

Sustainability

Our kraft stand-up pouches and kraft windowed stand-up pouches are recyclable, and we explain the difference between recyclable and compostable formats on our compostable packaging page.
